This was the view from my front room window on December 6, 2009 during the Festival of Lights in Lyon: A fireworks show on Fourvière Hill, which is the highest point in Lyon and on which the Basilique de Fourvière sits.

Every time the big ones went off, people cheered and yelled gleefully.

And that's the way I want to bring in 2010.
